March 11th and 12th
The weather remains perfect. We had no plans for this port either since we have been here numerous times. Kathy is feeling under the weather and has a bad cough and some congestion so she decided to stay on the ship. I was going to take the shuttle in but when I walked out to the terminal the shuttle was not there so I decided I would walk in and take the shuttle back. It is a nice walk which we have done many times and is along the water.

I always love all the fishing boats all lined up.
I walked around town and picked up a few items that I wanted before we leave Greece. I was going to have lunch in town and then take the shuttle back but got turned around and before I knew it I was halfway back to the boat. I did run across a leather store that had the cutest sandals in the window that I thought Kathy would love.

I texted her a picture of them and asked her what color she would like thinking I had to pick the blue/green/purple or red/orange/yellow. When I went in and asked for a pair they said this was a pair which made it even better.

Our docked boat.
I made it back on board a little after 1:00 and after showing Kathy the sandals I realized that I had gotten the wrong size. She had texted me the right size but I had not paid attention and bought a size too small. So I headed back into town to get the right size. Turns out I walked 9 miles going back and forth x 2.

Picturesque Corfu
The bad news is that our friends that were staying in the owner’s suite, Kathy & Michael, got off in Corfu today due to a medical issue that Michael had. We were hoping he could go to a local hospital and get some tests done and then rejoin the boat but while he is stable they wanted to run more tests which they could not do in Corfu. So while we were sailing to our next port, they were in an ambulance waiting to board a ferry for a 2 hour ferry ride and then a 30 minute car ride to a bigger city with a better hospital. Michael’s wife, Kathy had packed everything up the night before just in case they could not return.
At dinner that night all the crew that knew them from previous cruises were coming by to check on us and ask about Kathy & Michael. They all seemed very concerned. It does make the cruise a little bittersweet since the reason for the cruise was to travel together.
Kotor, Montenegro
On Thursday we were docked in Montenegro. Only small ships can actually dock, the rest have to anchor and tender their people in.

The Sapphire Princess was in port with us and had a 30 min tender ride to get to the dock.
Again we had no plans since we have been here multiple times before. We got off at a leisurely pace and wandered through old town and walked around the city.

We are docked right in the middle of town and it is a short walk to old town.
Kotor has tons of cats and is proud of that. Cats are everywhere and they sell tons of products with cats on them.

Loved this cat at the convenience store all curled up in a box, bottom shelf. Not sure if it was for sale or not.
Kotor is a beautiful port in a setting that is one of the prettiest. It is like being in a Norwegian Fjord with tall cliffs all around. There is a path that goes to the top of the mountain that a lot of people walk. We have never done it and not sure we ever will, it’s even more steps than Santorini which might be our limit.

This is the view from our balcony.
We decided to have lunch back on board after walking around some. We went back out late in the afternoon for a little bit but not long. We were actually in port until 10pm so we got to see the city at night.

The path up the mountain all lit up.
We had dinner with Linda & Michael in Manfredi’s. Since we are on a 9 night cruise we should only get 1 night in both of the speciality restaurants but since we know a lot of the crew they helped us out and “snuck” us in to Manfredi’s for a second night. They were having a BBQ up on the pool deck but our past experience with that is never enough tables and crowded and long lines for food so we figured we opted for Manfredi’s.

Sapphire Princess leaving port.

You can see how calm the water is when sailing out.

So smooth you had great reflections in the water.
Next port is Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Glad Kathy was feeling at least a little better so she could venture out. Hope you get well soon. Love the sandals. Please let us know if you find out about Michael. Loved Dubrovnik. We did the tour where you saw how they made sea salt.
