Sea Day (Day 9)

December 31, 2023

We had beautiful weather on our sea day. The ocean was very calm with few white caps and some minimal swells so the boat did rock some but not bad. In the morning we have several people learning to play Man Jongg and they are all on for the world cruise so plenty of time to learn.

A little more about this world cruise and why we decided to do a second one with Viking. As many of you may remember our world cruise in 21/22 was supposed to go across the Pacific after LA and do Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand and Australia. Due to covid non of that happened and we ended up going around South America and then crossing the Atlantic into the Mediterranean and then the middle east and then back into the Med. So now we are going to try and do the original itinerary. We think that is why we recognize so many people from the 21/22 world cruise on this boat. There is also a second Viking ship doing the same itinerary and they left 3 days before us. There are a few itinerary changes for both cruises so they are not exactly identical. For insistence the Sky had to spend an extra day in Panama City, Panama for some work on their hull so they missed Costa Rica. We did not have the same issue.

You can see how calm the sea was on our sea day

On the way into the restaurant they had some New Year’s bling for you to pick from.

Party on the pool deck for New Year’s. They pulled the lid back and we were in the middle of the ocean so we could be as loud as we wanted to be.

Moon over the water

Next stop is Puntarenas, Cost Rica
